Employment Discrimination
Discrimination in employment is often a traumatic offense to you which calls out for justice.
When we meet, we will discuss:
- What happened to you at your employment
- Whether the action of your employer was illegal or just mean
- Whether this illegal action by your employer gives you standing to sue the employer
- What we would need to prove in order to win a lawsuit
- What you might get in damages if we win the lawsuit
There is no charge for this first meeting.
Our attorneys and staff will:
- Continue to meet with you to develop your Complaint (lawsuit)
- Enter into a contingent fee agreement with you after discussing the terms of the agreement
- Introduce you to the area of law which concerns your case (e.g. age discrimination)
- Introduce you to the kind of proof required for your case
You will need to:
- Engage actively in providing information about what your employer did to you
- Carefully review all drafts so that the Complaint we file with the Court is full of statements which are accurate and can be proved
- Contact persons you know have information and might be witnesses
This gives only a sketch of the long and difficult effort we will make together. Illegal discrimination can be addressed only with hard work. We do this work and would be glad to consider whether you wish us to do it with you.
