Criminal Defense
Criminal defense is the hard toil that supports our nation’s presumption of innocence.
When we meet we will discuss:
- The nature of the charges against you
- Court dates you already must meet
- Bond, restraining orders, reporting requirements
- The facts as you remember them
- What the State (Prosecutor) must prove
- Pictures, tapes, other evidence
- Witnesses
There is no charge for this first meeting.
Our attorneys and staff will:
- Track all dates with the Court and any agency involved
- Seek discovery (crime reports, et al.)
- Analyze the elements the State must prove and their ability to prove those elements
- Analyze the potential value of pre-trial motions, e.g. Motion to Suppress
- Represent you at the Pretrial and any hearings on motions
- Attempt to achieve a fair plea agreement on your behalf
- Discuss with you your decision to plead or go to trial
- Represent you at Trial if there is a trial
You will need to:
- Meet with your attorney as needed to work on your case
- Identify witnesses who may be helpful
- Make decisions regarding plea agreement or going to Trial
